The Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership is committed to partnering with educational and community leaders to enhance your leadership skills in order to serve the Acadiana region, Louisiana, and beyond. We produce highly skilled educational leaders with a focus on positively impacting both K-12 and higher education institutions.

Practitioner & Research Based Programs

We bring our faculty’s wealth of experiences and expertise to the masters and doctoral educational leadership programs, and the undergraduate educational foundational courses, by stressing the link between theory and practice.

We’ll work with you to develop and refine your knowledge, skills, and dispositions through collaborative learning. We are a practitioner-based program, and we believe what you learn in class today can be used on the job tomorrow. We have an extremely high percentage of master’s students who pass the School Leader Licensure Assessment on their first try. Our doctoral students are consistently recognized for their outstanding research. The undergraduates in our program become well versed in educational foundations, educational psychology, and classroom assessment through field experiences.
