Ed. Law Class Celebrates Last Semester

The 2019 Higher Education Law class, pictured below, has come together to celebrate the final semester of EDFL's Richard Fossey before his retirement this December.
The course this year covered a wide range of topics, including negligence liability, sexual harassment, academic freedom, and the free speech rights of college students. Dr. Fossey also focused on a recent case titled Nguyen v. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which saw a 2018 decision by the Massachusetts Supreme Court that ruled that colleges have a limited duty to prevent their students from committing suicide.
