The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has launched a hybrid master’s degree program in educational leadership.
Former Governor Kathleen Blanco, Louisiana State Superintendent of Education, John C. White, Louisiana House Representative Edward James, and others joined our EDFL 875 class this summer to speak with students about their roles as future leaders in educational policy in Louisiana. This hands on course, led by Dr. Robert O. Slater, met over a three day period in Baton Rouge at the Department of Education building downtown. There students were given an inside perspective on the workings of the educational policy crafting and ratification process, and they were able to share their ideas and perspectives as current teachers and administrators with state leaders. It was an incredibly informative and inspiring class, enjoyed by all who attended!
